Instantly vs lemlist (2026): Pricing, Deliverability Features and Which to Choose
Instantly vs lemlist in 2026: pricing models, plan limits, warmup, inbox rotation, LinkedIn steps, lead data and integrations, and who each tool suits.
On this page 16 sections
Instantly and lemlist both send cold email sequences, warm up your mailboxes and sell lead data. What separates them is how they charge, what costs extra, and whether you need LinkedIn and calls in the same sequence as your emails. For a solo founder or small team, those three things usually decide the choice.
This is a research-based comparison, not a hands-on test. Every price, limit and feature below comes from the vendors’ own pricing pages and help centers, or from official mailbox-provider guidance, checked in September 2026 and listed in the sources.
Quick answer
Choose Instantly if your outbound is email-only and spread across many mailboxes. Every Outreach plan has one flat price with unlimited email accounts and warmup, starting at $47/month. Choose lemlist if you want LinkedIn steps, calls and email in one sequence. Its Multichannel Expert plan costs $109 per user/month. lemlist also fits an email-only team that wants unlimited users on a plan priced by monthly email volume, from $69/month for 50,000 emails. Prices are for monthly billing as of September 2026. Annual billing is cheaper on both.

Pricing: how each tool charges
Instantly: flat plans, unlimited mailboxes
Instantly sells its sending tool (Outreach), lead data (Instantly credits) and CRM as separate subscriptions, each billed separately. Outreach plans charge one price per workspace, not per mailbox or seat, and each workspace needs its own subscription.
| Outreach plan | Monthly billing | Billed yearly (per month) | Uploaded contacts | Emails per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $47 | $37.60 | 1,000 | 5,000 |
| Hypergrowth | $97 | $77.60 | 25,000 | 100,000–125,000* |
| Light Speed | $358 | $286.30 | 100,000 | 500,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | 100,000+ | 500,000+ |
As of September 2026. *Instantly’s pricing page shows 125,000 emails on the monthly Hypergrowth card, and 100,000 on the yearly card and in the plan comparison table.
The cheapest plan has gaps. Instantly’s comparison table shows these features starting on Hypergrowth, not Growth: team invites, Unibox (its shared reply inbox), A/Z testing, the global block list, “API, webhooks, and integrations” and advanced warmup. Instantly also sells bundles that combine Outreach and credits: Starter at $94/month ($85 billed yearly), Scale at $194 ($175) and Agency at $555 ($500).
lemlist: volume-priced email, per-seat multichannel
The common claim that lemlist is priced per user is now only half true. For new customers, the Email plan is priced by monthly email volume, with unlimited users and senders. Only Multichannel Expert, which adds LinkedIn and calling and lists unlimited emails and messages, is priced per user.
| lemlist plan | Monthly | Quarterly (per month) | Yearly (per month) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email: 50,000 emails/mo | $69 | $62 | $55 |
| Email: 100,000 emails/mo | $89 | $80 | $71 |
| Email: 200,000 emails/mo | $159 | $143 | $127 |
| Email: 500,000 emails/mo | $359 | $323 | $287 |
| Email: 1,000,000 emails/mo | $659 | $593 | $527 |
| Multichannel Expert | $109/user | $99/user | $87/user |
| Enterprise | Custom; annual billing only, minimum 5 seats | ||
As of September 2026, from lemlist’s pricing page and its “how to choose the right plan” help article. Vendors change pricing often.
Two easy-to-miss details. When a team hits the Email plan’s monthly cap, lemlist pauses active campaigns until you upgrade. And existing Email Pro customers keep that older plan at their current pricing, while new customers see only the volume-priced Email plan. An older review quoting per-seat email pricing may describe a plan you can no longer buy.
What a small team would pay
List prices, monthly billing, excluding mailboxes and domains from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, which cost extra with either tool:
- Solo founder, email only. Instantly Growth at $47 is cheaper than lemlist Email at $69. But Growth caps you at 5,000 emails a month and 1,000 uploaded contacts, and leaves out Unibox, the API and integrations. lemlist’s entry tier allows 50,000 emails a month.
- Three people, email only, shared account. On Instantly’s Outreach plans, team invites start at Hypergrowth ($97). lemlist Email ($69) includes unlimited users.
- Three reps running email, LinkedIn and calls. lemlist Multichannel Expert costs 3 × $109 = $327/month, or 3 × $87 = $261/month billed yearly. Instantly’s Outreach plans don’t list LinkedIn automation, so you would likely need a second tool for that.
What’s included and what’s an add-on
- Lead data. Instantly sells data separately: Growth Credits cost $47/month for 1,500 credits. A verified email costs 1 credit if Instantly finds it, 2 if it comes from a data partner. Unused credits expire two months after purchase on monthly plans, one year on annual plans. lemlist’s Email plan includes no credits, and Multichannel Expert includes 400 per user per month (reset monthly). lemlist’s enrichment add-on starts at $20/month for 2,000 credits ($16 billed yearly). A found email costs 5 credits and a phone number 20, charged only on success, and add-on credits roll over while the add-on is active.
- Warmup. Included in both. Instantly includes unlimited warmup on every Outreach plan. lemlist says lemwarm Essential is included free with every active subscription.
- Mailboxes and domains. Both sell them in-app. Instantly’s help center lists domains at $15/year, and done-for-you or pre-warmed Google accounts at $5 and $10 per month. lemlist lists domain and email buying as an add-on but doesn’t publish those prices on its pricing page.
- CRM. Instantly’s plans overview lists separate CRM plans: Growth CRM at $47/month and Hyper CRM at $97/month. Another Instantly help article describes a flat $97/month, and the main pricing page shows no CRM prices, so confirm before you buy. lemlist’s pricing page doesn’t list a separate CRM product. It integrates with yours.
- Extra channels. On lemlist Multichannel, each SMS costs 6 credits and WhatsApp is an add-on at $20 per user per month. You can bring your own phone number for calls or rent one for $15/month.
Deliverability features: warmup, rotation and sending limits
Neither tool can rescue a bad list. What both do is warm up mailboxes, spread volume across senders and cap sending. For authentication, domains and list hygiene, see our cold email deliverability guide.
Warmup
Instantly’s warmup uses a shared pool of Instantly users’ accounts that open warmup emails and move them out of spam. It recommends 10 warmup emails a day for new accounts, and at least two weeks of warmup (three for its AirMail accounts) plus a health score above 90% before you launch. lemlist’s lemwarm follows the same logic: no cold email during warmup, no campaigns below a warm-up score of 90, then about 10 lemwarm emails a day once campaigns are live.
Sending limits
Instantly recommends 30 campaign emails per account per day (20 maximum for its AirMail mailboxes) and says warmup emails don’t count toward that limit. lemlist’s per-mailbox guidance is similar, 30–40 emails a day for a new mailbox, but it adds a ceiling across mailboxes: keep total volume under 70 a day per provider, counting lemlist, lemwarm and manual replies, measured over a rolling 24 hours.
Inbox rotation
Instantly lets you assign an unlimited number of accounts to a campaign and sends from all of them automatically. lemlist spreads new leads across the senders you select, and each lead keeps the same sender for follow-ups. On Multichannel Expert you get up to five sending addresses per user, and they must all belong to the same person (“1 account = 1 person”). As lemlist’s own help center warns, rotation spreads volume but doesn’t multiply what one provider will accept from you.
Infrastructure extras
Instantly’s Light Speed plan adds SISR, which its pricing page describes as automatically assigned and rotated dedicated server and IP blocks. Instantly sells inbox placement testing as a separate product. lemlist lists a “Deliverability hub” alongside warmup on its Email plan, and its plan comparison table shows deliverability testing on every plan.
The mailbox providers set the real rules. Google requires every sender to set up SPF or DKIM and to keep spam rates in Postmaster Tools below 0.3% (its FAQ recommends aiming for under 0.1%). Senders of roughly 5,000+ messages a day to personal Gmail accounts must also have SPF, DKIM and DMARC, plus one-click unsubscribe on marketing mail. Google classifies you as a bulk sender permanently once you cross that threshold. Microsoft requires SPF, DKIM and DMARC (at least p=none, aligned) from domains sending more than 5,000 emails a day to Outlook.com, Hotmail and Live addresses. Its April 2025 update says non-compliant messages are rejected with error 550 5.7.515. Setting these up is your job, not the tool’s.
Multichannel: LinkedIn, calls and SMS
This is lemlist’s clearest advantage, but only on Multichannel Expert and Enterprise. The Email plan has no LinkedIn actions, calling, phone numbers or WhatsApp.
On Multichannel Expert, sequences can include automated LinkedIn profile visits, invitations and messages, along with calls from an in-app dialer and SMS. LinkedIn actions run through lemlist’s Chrome extension and your logged-in browser session, and each lemlist account connects to a single LinkedIn profile. lemlist’s own guidance is about 20 invites, 30 messages and 30 profile visits a day. It notes that LinkedIn caps invitations at roughly 100 per rolling week. The plan guide lists 400 calling minutes per user per month on Multichannel Expert. Beyond that, calls use credits: 4 credits per minute at the basic rate and 32 at the premium rate, and the dialer shows which rate applies before you call.
Instantly is built around email, and its Outreach plans don’t list LinkedIn automation. Its CRM help pages mention handling LinkedIn connections alongside emails, calls and SMS, but they don’t describe automated LinkedIn steps inside an email sequence. Calls and SMS live in Instantly CRM, on separate CRM plans, and you buy a phone number and calling credit first. If your process depends on LinkedIn touches between emails, plan on another tool alongside Instantly or confirm with Instantly first.
Personalization and AI features
Instantly supports custom variables, spintax ({{RANDOM | option1 | option2}}) and an AI Spintax Writer. “AI Prompts & Enrichment” writes opening lines or researches companies per row for about 0.5 credits each, or you can connect your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others. A/Z testing starts on Hypergrowth.
lemlist supports custom variables and Liquid syntax. Liquid lets you add if/else content based on lead data, with fallbacks for when a field is empty. lemlist also offers personalized images, such as a prospect’s logo or website screenshot with text overlays, built from image URLs in your lead data. AI-generated variables cost 1 credit per request, or you can connect your own OpenAI key.
Lead database
Both tools now bundle a B2B contact database. Instantly advertises 450M+ B2B leads with 13 search filters and waterfall email enrichment across 5+ providers. lemlist advertises 650M+ leads, and its credits guide says the email finder checks up to 10 data providers. These are vendor figures, and size says nothing about accuracy for your market, so test a small batch before buying credits in volume. If data is your main need, compare a dedicated database such as Apollo (see our Apollo.io pricing breakdown).
CRM and integrations
Instantly documents native connections to HubSpot and Pipedrive. It covers Salesforce and HubSpot activity sync through a third-party service (OutboundSync), and offers Zapier and Make workflows, plus API v2 and webhooks. Its pricing comparison table lists “API, webhooks, and integrations” from Hypergrowth, so budget for that plan if you need any of them.
lemlist lists native integrations with HubSpot and Salesforce (two-way sync), Pipedrive, Attio, Close and Zoho CRM, plus Zapier, Make and n8n. Its Email plan includes “CRM integrations & API”. If your CRM is your source of truth, lemlist offers more native options and includes them on its entry plan.
Learning curve and team setup
Instantly has fewer moving parts if all you do is email: connect mailboxes, warm them up, launch sequences. Plan for the product split (Outreach, credits and CRM are separate subscriptions) and one subscription per workspace, such as per client.
lemlist has more to set up because it does more. LinkedIn steps depend on the Chrome extension and your browser session, and credits come in four types with different rollover rules. Email and Multichannel Expert plans can’t be combined in one team, so switching later means a new team or a support request. Pick your plan with the next 6–12 months in mind.

- No LinkedIn automation listed on Outreach plans
lemlist

Cons
- Multichannel is priced per user, so costs grow with headcount

Choose Instantly if… / choose lemlist if…
Choose Instantly if:
- Your outbound is email-only and you plan to run many mailboxes across several domains.
- You want a predictable flat fee that doesn’t change when you add teammates (from Hypergrowth).
- You’re an agency or freelancer running many sending accounts per client workspace.
Choose lemlist if:
- LinkedIn touches and calls belong in your sequence, and you don’t want two tools.
- You’re an email-only team with several users, and volume-based pricing with unlimited users works out cheaper.
- You rely on conditional content or personalized images, or you need native HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive sync.
Who each is not for: Instantly doesn’t fit if you need LinkedIn steps in the same sequence, or want the API, CRM integrations or a shared inbox on the cheapest plan. lemlist Multichannel doesn’t fit a large team of occasional senders, because every user is a paid seat. The Email plan is a weak fit for cheap low-volume testing: it starts at $69, and it has no free trial of its own (the trial runs on Multichannel Expert).
A third option: Smartlead
Smartlead follows the same model as Instantly: every plan includes unlimited email accounts, and it rotates sending across the mailboxes in a campaign automatically. As of September 2026, plans are Base at $39/month, Pro at $94, Unlimited Smart at $174 and Unlimited Prime at $379, with 17% off for annual billing. The Base plan includes 2,000 contacts and 6,000 sends a month. White-label client workspaces cost $29/month per client (from Pro), and mailbox buying, deliverability testing and email verification are paid add-ons. Our cold outreach stack guide shows where each tool fits.
Verdict
For email-only outbound across many mailboxes, Instantly is the more natural fit: unlimited accounts and warmup on one flat plan, though you should budget for Hypergrowth ($97/month) if you need a shared inbox, the API, CRM integrations or teammates. If you want LinkedIn and calls in the same sequence, lemlist Multichannel Expert ($109 per user/month) is the better fit, as long as per-seat pricing works for you. Small email-only teams shouldn’t rule out lemlist’s Email plan, with unlimited users from $69/month. Start with the free trials and check the live pricing pages before you buy, because plans change often.
FAQ
Is lemlist priced per user?
Partly. As of September 2026, the Email plan is priced by monthly email volume with unlimited users, starting at $69/month for 50,000 emails. Multichannel Expert ($109/user/month) and Enterprise are priced per seat.
Does Instantly charge per email account?
No. Every Instantly Outreach plan includes unlimited email accounts and warmup; you pay for the plan’s contact and email limits. The mailboxes themselves (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or bought through Instantly) cost extra.
Can Instantly send LinkedIn messages?
Instantly’s Outreach plans don’t list LinkedIn automation. Its CRM help pages mention handling LinkedIn connections, and its AI prompts can draft LinkedIn messages, but automated LinkedIn steps inside an email sequence aren’t documented. If you need automated LinkedIn visits, invites and messages in the same sequence as your emails, lemlist Multichannel documents them.
Is cold email legal?
It depends on where you and your recipients are. In the US, the FTC says CAN-SPAM makes no exception for business-to-business email. It requires a valid physical postal address and honoring opt-outs within 10 business days. Other countries set their own rules: Canada’s CASL, for example, requires consent before you send commercial email, and EU data-protection law (GDPR) applies when you email people in the EU. This isn’t legal advice, so check the rules for the countries you email.
